From a Heritage Auctions auction:
"Kong's" Petrox crown from King Kong.
(De Laurentiis Co., 1976) This
screen-used crown was worn by Rick Baker (in creature suit) as the giant ape
"King Kong" in the 1976 Dino De Laurentiis remake of the classic
film. Highly visible when "Kong" is put on public display in New York
just prior to his final rampage through the city. Consisting of a rigid
composite material crown of 12 x 10 in. oval. Painted gold. Some of the crown's
mirrored jewels have been carefully replicated and replaced on the spires of
the crown, as has the Petrox logo insignia affixed to the front of the crown
for display purposes. In vintage, very good condition.
